There is often talk of the golfing gods having an impact at tournaments and on winners and losers.
Here we are at Augusta, typically famous for its tranquility.
So what has happened during the second day? Falling trees resulting in a suspension of play as well as electrical storms.
Surely this plays into the hands of one of my pupils Brooks Koepka, or fingers crossed it does.
With Brooks being amongst the early starters he avoided both suspensions of play and finished his round, with the officials eventually ending play for the day at 5.46 pm local time.
With heavy rain, strong winds and so much more forecast for Saturday, it seems the golfing gods are shining down on Brooks.
It looks like being a long and exhausting weekend for all players who make the cut, with Brooks resting up and watching it all unfold around him.
If you are on the wrong side of the draw, or are unfortunately involved in suspensions of play, it makes an already challenging week even more challenging.
Rahm and 38 other competitors will be first to arrive at the club on Saturday to complete their rounds.
Then the cut will be made and the third round draw published.
While all this is happening Brooks has his feet up, re-charging his batteries and waiting, waiting and waiting and maybe watching the action on television.
Meanwhile, Jon Rahm is at the club, not sure how to use up the time, before a predicted late round three tee time, perhaps alongside Brooks?
Brooks is 32 years old and Jon is 28 and both are athletes at the top of their games.
Mentally is where the difference may come with Rahm having nine holes of his second round still to complete.
It will be a compelling watch and there are so many other stories to tell.
A couple of note are 23 year-old Amateur Sam Bennett from Texas, the 2022 US Amateur champion who is at eight under par after two rounds of 68.
Readers may recall he played in the 2022 Dubai Desert Classic and missed the cut by just one shot.
He is one to watch both this week and beyond.
Finally, hats off the 63 year-old Fred Couples, the 1992 Masters champion. He lies level par with just the final hole to complete. What other sport will you see players competing on level terms.
Stories like these are inspirational and gives hope to golfers both young and old.
Enjoy the watch and speak to you all tomorrow after what will be another enthralling day in Georgia!
