Jumeirah Golf Estates recently hosted the Ladies Pink Ball Event over the Earth course. The teams consisted of three and four balls. The Pink Ball was played individually in an agreed rotational order. It was a Shambles format; the best two Stableford scores from each team counted towards the score.
Prizes were awarded to the Shambles and Pink Ball Team winners and an on-course competition.
Mitsuko Emmerson (9.8), Teresa Sheepwash (27.9), Rosine Natali (15) and Valerie Darnault (17.9) won the Shambles competition with a fantastic score of 93 Stableford Points. Holes 3, 4, and 5 were where the team ignited and had four net eagles in three holes scoring Stableford points of 7-8- 7. A dazzling 52 points on the front nine set the team up superbly for the remainder of the round.
Winning the Pink Ball were Elena Commarmond (24.3), JGE Lady Captain Evelyn Downham (16.1) and Sherma Ayrton (20.6). The three-ball team scored a fantastic 37 Stableford points with the pink ball. The result was closely contested and had to go to a count-back with the Shambles winners.
Wednesday’s on-course competition was set up as a Nearest the Pin on hole 6. Sherma Ayrton (20.6) successfully hit her tee shot the closest.
Whilst concluding the prize-giving presentation, Rory Stewart, Golf Services Executive, commented, ‘Congratulations to all our prize winners today and thank you for participating in the Pink Ball event. On behalf of the Golf Operations team, thank you for your ongoing support of the ladies section. We look forward to welcoming you back next week for a Lounge Spa sponsored event.’
