Manila: Ten (10) prisoners escaped a Manila jail on Monday, of whom nine had been rearrested as of Tuesday.
The 10 escaped from a jail facility in Pasay City, one of the 16 constituent cities of Metro Manila.
The initial six had been rearrested within the same day they escaped.
The Southern Police District (SPD) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) stated that Norman Deyta, Carlo Magno, and Romeo Estopa were nabbed during a manhunt operation on Tuesday.
On Monday, the authorities brought back into custody escapees Christian Salvatierra, Joey Hernandez, Eden Garcia, Tirzo Galit, Joshua Panganiban, and John Michael Cabe.
Meanwhile, a manhunt operation continues for Richard Dela Cruz, who remains at large. The inmates escaped Malibay Detention Facility in Barangay 152 at around 4:30 am on Monday.
The SPD said they managed to storm out of the facility after they busted their cell’s iron bar, overpowering and mauling the duty jailer.
After the assault, they stole his service firearm and assorted prison cell keys from him.
