Dubai: Teresa Sheepwash clinched the ladies’ Individual Stableford at the Jumeirah Golf Estates at the Fire course this week.
The 20 ladies were teeing off from the orange tee markers in Individual Stableford format, playing on full course Handicap Allowance.
Sheepwash (32) scored 37 points to claim victory. She played consistently throughout, with a scattering of net birdies on both the front and back nine. This scattering also came in the way of net eagles as Sheepwash picked up one on each nine.
Admirable fightback
Runner-up and third place were closely contested and Sun Le Rim (30), scoring 36 Stableford points, edged out Nischa Russouw (11) on a countback to claim the runner-up spot. Having not made the start Rim would have wanted, she fought back admirably and scored well for the remainder of her round. Rim went three under in her final five holes, showing that her determination to finish well was rewarded.
While concluding the prize-giving presentation, Ginger DelaCretaz, Golf Teaching Professional at the Tommy Fleetwood Academy, commented: “A huge congratulations to all you wonderful ladies. It was fantastic to see such a strong field participating today.”
