On Saturday 18th February at Sharjah Golf and Shooting Club (SGSC) saw the return of Orient Travels Monthly members event which runs along side the gross and net order of merit. It was a perfect day for golf and the course was in excellent condition.
Topping the leaderboard at the end of the days play was Sultan Qazi who produced some excellent golf that in return saw him take home the spoils. Sultan posted a score of 74 that included five net birdies and if it was not for a triple bogey on the 16th hole his score would have been even better. Sultan was delighted to take home the generous prizes put up by the sponsors.
Losing out by just a single shot was SGSC low handicapper Ramli Sulaiman who also posted 74 which was enough for him to claim runners up spot on the day. Third place went to past SGSC Captain Rory Thomson who posted a solid score of 75. SGSC scratch league member Sami Butt collected the prize on offer for best gross score with an 82.
The Order of Merit will run alongside the Orient Travel Monthly Medals, as it is set up to be an exciting year with lots of SGSC's big names up in contention. All are excited to see how it unravels.
