The Team led by Professional Purna Sharma (ProSports International) with Amateurs, Anca Pirvu (16), Dorin Mateiu (9) and Masoud Sobati (9) shot 176 Stableford points to win the 36 hole Jumeirah Golf Estates Pro-Am by AHR, sanctioned by the UAE PGA.

30 Teams participated in this two-day tournament with each Team comprising one Pro and three Amateurs with the first round played over the Fire course and day two over the Earth course, both in shotgun starts.

The format was the best two scores from the Team of four on each hole, plus the Professional Individual event. Amateurs received 85% of the Course Handicap.

Mateiu was perhaps the star of the Team with the equivalent of a front nine gross of 37 in round one, and a net 72 on day two, with thirteen three-points over the two days. This anchored the Team and the other three players complemented to combine for the winning score.

In the Pro Division Matt Rice (Golf Kraft) shot rounds of 70 and 69 for a four-shot win from Sam MacLaren (SGSC).

Rice played solid golf over the two days, with three birdies and an eagle three on day one on Fire and on day two Rice secured five birdies on Earth.

The leading Pro score on day one was by Tom Hanson (PSI) with a 69, and on day two a 68, by Pro Individual runner-up Sam MacLaren (SGSC).

Whilst concluding the prize-giving presentation, Stephen Wilson, Golf Operations Manager at JGE, commented, ‘A huge congratulations to Matt Rice for his fantastic scoring across the two days. A special mention to the team from AHR Group, who have been very generous in support of this event which has grown from last year. Their involvement is very much appreciated by Jumeirah Golf Estates.’
