Yannik Paul (Ger), shot a third round of one under par 71 for a 54 hole total of 11 under par, to lead by one shot in the $2 million Hero Indian Open at DLF G&CC, New Delhi on the DP World Tour.

28 year-old Paul, started the round with a five shot lead but he stumbled on holes two and three with bogeys.

On the sixth hole Paul went on a run of birdie-birdie-birdie to turn in one under par 35.

Six pars on the back nine were followed by a bogey–birdie–par finish to see him home in level par 36 and a round of 71.

Paul, who is aiming to become a two-time DP World Tour winner on Sunday, said, ‘With a five-shot lead, I knew there was still 36 holes to go. I obviously didn’t get off to the best start but I just tried to focus on myself.

Chasing the leader in second place is 42 year-old Marcel Siem (Ger) a four-time winner on the DP World Tour. Siem shot a third round 67 with six birdies.

On completing his round Kapur said, ‘My game was much better today, I used the momentum from yesterday and carried that over and took advantage of the morning conditions. I have played the last 27 holes in seven under and I’ll take that around this course any time.’

The final round draw sees Paul, Siem and Luiten paired together in the final tee time at 11.25 am.
