Jumeirah Golf Estates recently held their annual Team Scramble competition. Despite tricky winds and cooler weather there were 110 competitors in the field.

As the title of the event suggests, the format for the day was a four-ball Texas Scramble. The winning group with an amazing net score of 52 was Shames Al Hashemi, Nasser Al Khafaji, Humaid Al Tayer and Hassan Al Sayegh. Even with five eagles, ten birdies, and only three pars; 20 under par in total, they won by only one shot. Before their last hole they were tied for second place but a net eagle on the last sealed their victory.

In the runner up position were Hash Kapadia, Shane Jewell, Aharron Leo and Mark Castley. Their combined score of 19 under par was amazing to watch especially the string of eight net birdies and two eagles to finish their round.

With 18 under par and by a count back in third place came the group of Stuart Murray, Stephen Bushnell, Tom Chick and Jonty Oldreive. They also showed a great form with five net eagles on their scorecard.

Whilst concluding the prize-giving ceremony, Adam Stastny, Assistant Golf Services Manager, commented, ‘Thanks for everyone’s support and we are looking forward to the next tournament - Jumeirah Pairs by The Lounge Spa.’
