Women’s World Number One golfer Lydia Ko (NZ) shot a final round of 68 for a 72 hole total of 21 under par to win the $5 million ARAMCO Saudi Ladies International at Royal Greens Golf & Country Club on the Ladies European Tour.
Recently married Ko, 25 years-old, turned professional in 2015, notched up her 26th Professional global win, having previously won this title in 2021 when she shot 23 under par.
Starting the day one shot back of playing partner Lilia Vu (US), Ko went to the turn in a one under par 35, and came home with birdies on holes 10, 13 and 17 to take the title by one shot from India’s Aditi Ashok who closed with a 68, with her four rounds all in the 60’s.
This will keep Ashok at the top of the 2023 LET’s Race to Costa Del Sol Rankings with a win, third and this week’s runner-up spot in the three events so far this year along with her three career wins including this year’s win in Kenya.
Ko takes home the first prize cheque of $750,000, with Ashok having the consolation of a $450,000 cheque.
Dubai based 16 year-old Chiara Noja (Ger) carded a final round two under par 70, to finish a creditable tied 12th place with a four rounds of 71, 70, 65 and 70 to finish 12 under par.
Defending champion Georgia Hall (Eng) shot a final round 67, with just three bogeys in four rounds to finish in seventh place.
